I want to swap my R12 compressor for an R134 one, is there a direct swap that will bolt up to the brackets? I allready had the refidgerant and oil swapped out but my weak R12 compressor isn't getting the system cold enough. Thanx
Before the cat is where to look. If you don't have original exhaust then you wouldn't have the bung for the second 02 sensor.
pic is right here,

I had a problem with the steering going off during hard cornering, it would go wide and be off centered etc. and would hesitate when I turn the wheel slightly.
I was able to have my wife turn the wheel with the car not moving and engine running and I looked down at the rack and the whole rack...
On my car at least, there is a Tee on the firewall for the cruise control and the heater valve so unless it never gets cold where you live you might want the heater valve too.
Yes we know, the link I posted above is for a 14" perma-cool that ive read on another forum is an excellent choice to replace the standard clutch fan and you can keep the AC fans to boot. The flex-a-lite dual universal ones or those made specificly for the Supra require the whole shroud to be...
Yeah a switch that will screw into the thermostat housing would be perfect. Do you have a number for it?
I bought a flex-a-lite dual universal for my K5 Blazer and the switch crapped out after one year. It has a probe that goes in the rad hose. Id like to get a switch for the tstat housing for...
The aux fans (little ones) are for the AC when you switch it on. If your going electric then get one that has a kit to come on when the car warms up. They usually have a probe that goes in the upper hose or in the radiator fins.
There is also an adjustment to vary the temp it comes on at. Look...
I would have thought the 89+would work fine in the older chassis if you just use the old injectors and fuel rail and throttle body from the older engine then you could keep the original harness and ECU. Ive had newer engines put in mine and they allways just had to swap out the old fuel...
There are 7 or 8 supras here in the junk yards and none have the 4.30 for the NA's. They are 3.91 or 3.73. Ive also been looking for a 4.30. These supras were either imported from the states or sold here in Kuwait
91 and 92's only.
Scince your profile says your running the 1JZGE it should...
If you drill the NA block for one more knock sensor where would you put it?
The Turbo block has them on 2 and 5, the NA is on #3 so if you just drill one it won't be symmetrical anymore so I would just try and get the one to work wired in Parallel.
It sounds like you bought a "dial back to zero" timing light.
You connect to number one shoot the strobe at the crank and dial the "analog knob" till the crank reads 0, then check what you dialed it to which you said was 18-20. The second reading is still 18-20 cause you dialed it to 10 and...
I was getting around 230 to 240 a tank with a 3.73 LSD Modified intake (cone filter with cover) headers.
I replaced the 02 sensor with a new denso I ordered from amazon for around 35 dollars or so, put a 3.91 LSD on the car and with AC I went up to around 290-300 and up to 330 without AC. My...
Any chance the shortblock has larger pistons? Most rebuilds end up bored out unless they go back to stock specs where the block would have sleeves put back in to get the original bore size and that gets really expensive. Larger displacement could account for some added HP.
At over 4 dollars a gallon you probably got over 42 mpg if you went 90 miles in an hour and only spent 10 dollars on gas. Id be singing praises about my green Supra.
Is there any coolant going into the overflow tank? could be a bad cap if it won't let it build up pressure.
check the wheels...
The Y pipe gasket has a piece that stretches accross between the pipe to the two holes that is part of the gasket. Its a thin paper gasket. Thats the easiest way to see if there is one on now. If you took the pipe off and it wasn't there then light gasket material sounds like the solution to the...
Code 41 for the NA says to troubleshoot on this page,
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=36
but did you pull the EFI fuse to reset the ECU? the code will still be stored till you reset it.
Use a feeler guage also when checking the IDL setting.
When my TPS...
You might as well change all 3 sets while your at it.
1. Exhaust flange to the head
2. 2 little round ones where exhaust manifold mounts to the pipes
3. Exhaust collector before the cat.
And have plenty of break free or WD40 handy for the rusted nuts and studs and change them while your at...
If you have a multimeter then read out the TPS IAW the TSRM.
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=101
Set it and leave it alone. Also manually open it while reading it and make sure it isn't intermittent. A bad signal from the TPS can run the idle up and down with...
