There is a lot of material that can be removed from the stock manifold, especially in the collector area. I almost filled an entire tuna can with what I removed. Just be careful and look for cracks when you do it.

yes. dynamat, vblock, brown bread - all that stuff is much denser than the stock carpet insulation. and it works better too.
