What these lists also don't take into account:
Clutch - if the motor is out, do you really want to leave that old clutch on? or replace it while everything is apart? Would suck to do all that work and then have it slip as soon as you turn the boost up.
transmission - again, the hard work is...
The head is where things can get real expensive real fast.

Valve job (cost per hole X24)
valves (pending how yours look, Ferrea are much nicer than stock)
springs (probably want to replace the 20yr old OEs)
setting the clearance - might need to buy additional shims (not cheap)...
on the exhaust side it really doesn't matter given the restrictions of the stock manifold design. If you were that concerned about cyl-cyl balance, then you need to contact Ron R or Dave@boostwerks and have them fab an equal length runner manifold. Besides, you have that giant restriction called...
There is a lot of material that can be removed from the stock manifold, especially in the collector area. I almost filled an entire tuna can with what I removed. Just be careful and look for cracks when you do it.

To address the issue that Ric mentioned (amp draw) use a pulse width modulated controller (SPAL makes a good one, I used that with the contour fans). Controller varries the speed of one fan, the second fan is kicked on by a relay that is signaled from from an aux output on the spal controller...
