Whistle or Squeal when hood is down

There's vacuum lines to the cruise control servo. And along firewall over to the heater control valve. There's exhaust pressure on the back of the head at the EGR cooler cover. And at the tubing to the EGR valve. Intake manifold vacuum leak can give whistles.

Only if you ran 'out' of fluid. If there is some in the resevoir, then the pump is full.

Whistle or Squeal when hood is down

Just a thought.....Our engine bays are very packed, and air has a problem getting out. The cooling fan may be trying to force air out of the engine bay. The rubber seal for the hood at the firewall may be leaking a little and cause the whistle. I removed my seal to allow more air flow out of...

    Power steering

Thanks for the helpless answer/post. Although I am sssooooo sorry to hear your sad story !:nono: The problem with twoaudio's steering sounds like the rack is going bad. The worn bushings and teflon seals can cause just what you describe. A reman rack is about $200, and not a really...

GASKET question "not a head gasket dont worry" lol

You could always buy tools with cash, from the pro trucks (ie: snap-on, Mac) if you see one parked at a repair shop. 14mm x 3/8 dr socket. Most auto parts stores, and Lowe's, Ace, Home Depot, etc. By the way....that center gasket (not really a gasket) does not prevent any oil leakage...

    tranny flush

Yes, lubrication. And did you know that back in the early '80s Toyota (and probably some others) started using Dexron II in their manual trannys on front wheel drive cars ?? Better MPG, and shifting. Also, Dexron III (what you get today) is a very safe and good engine block cleaner. Just...

Want to re-gas your aircon and not have to convert to R134?

Here I found that RS-24 is a legal substitute for R12, here in the USA. http://www.epa.gov/ozone/snap/refrigerants/lists/mvacs.html I've never seen it for sale. I read elsewhere that it is not as cold as R134a. But that it is a direct replacement for R12, with no converting needed. I...

    Burning oil

Manufactures state that burning 1 qt of oil every 500 miles is acceptable. I do not agree. My car neither burns nor leaks (finally) any oil. But.....1/4 - 1/2 qt every 500 miles is pretty normal, cause I bet you also leak a little, too. I always recommend 20w-50 oil for every...

Im removing my EGR, so can I remove this thing?

----------------------- The 'canister' you are refering to is not part of the EGR sustem. It is there to provide a strong and continuous vacuum source for the "acoustic control induction system" (ACIS), which delivers low-to-high torque on demand. It opens the valve at approx. 4k rpm...
