    BRAKES WTF!!!

Always re-surface, or replace the rotors with every brake job. Also, we've been installing those 'ceramic' pads by Bendix, and I haven't had any customers complain of squeels. By the way....an interesting article in 'MOTOR' magazine on brake noise....said..."brake squeels have always been...

    no acceleration... well hardly

NO to any of the following can be cause for a tranny overhaul. Does it accelerate good with the shifter in the low position?? Yes? Then the torque converter is probably ok. When you manually upshift to 2nd, does it still pull hard??? Yes?? then the clutch packs are probably ok...

My electric fan for my ge

cjsupra90 dude.....the thermostat does not seal off the by-pass. It always flows thru it. And I'm positively sure about this. In fact, I tied in a very large tranny cooler to those 2 ports, and sandwiched it between the ac condensor and the radaitor. This gave me about 40% more radiator for...

Want to know if mileage will change with new differential

The LSD does not effect MPG. Toyota put the 4.3 in the N/A cars because the 3.9, 3.7, etc does not get you the acceleration from a stop. You won't like your car with less than 4.1. You also won't gain any MPG, because you will be giving the engine more fuel to get you going from a stop...

    ignition switch issues

Problems like your are the kind that I'd need to be there looking at it. I think the fusible links are ok, by what you've said. Ignition switches go bad all the time. At Carquest they are $153 list / $74 my cost. Also check dealer, and some other parts stores.

    Climate control light problem

Mine too. I believe it is a 'connection' problem inside each of the buttons. They are LEDs, and sometimes they can act up.

    GE cat, fit a GTE??

No differences. We install Magnaflow cats everyday. We weld them in. Supra is $149 installed. Inlet/outlet size is all the diff between the turbo/na. I use a 2 1/2" on my N/A. Maybe you are talking about a bolt in (factory setup)??? Just get a weld in.

    Ebay Buyer Beware

This thread will fade away, and people won't know that this company is bad. I think it might be a good idea to start a "section" on this problem. Call it 'Buyer's Beware". That way people can post there, and we could easily find out about these poorly run companies.

How do you pronounce the Supra generations? POLL

Mark is the official Toyota word. Mark 1...Mark 2...Mark 3. At least back in the '80s while I was a tech at Toyota.

My electric fan for my ge

I doubt anyone has done that. Also...if your thermostat ever got stuck, the coolant won't be flowing anyway, and the fan not coming on will be the least of your problems. I believe you are 'thinking' too hard, in a negative way. This wastes time and causes you more work than needed. I...

    N/A Header Ideas

Life is much simplier today, than in the '50s. In the '50s, there were lots of 6 cyl motors. Just think of it this way....its already been tried and done...every mod you can think of for a 6 cyl. So... the header designs being used are the ones that work.:biglaugh:

Timing Belt/Waterpump quote -- Am I going to get screwed?

My shop rate is $65/hr. If its n/a car, would have charged you 4 hrs. 5 hrs for turbo. Parts $$ sound about right. I would have also (unless you just did it) sold you a cooling system flush with the water pump job. Add $90. Also add a radiator cap, thermostat, and 1 1/2 gal. coolant...

will this tool work for all seals?

AND.....to remove the seals, you make a little hook out of a coat hanger. Carefully slip it into the seal at the shaft contact point, rotate it 90*, and pull some, then slide it around 180*, then pull a little more, 'walking the seal out. By the way, with this new keyboard, I'm starting to...
