I've been putting up with this for some time now, and the only reason it's bugging me to fix it is because I like to have everything i can working on my supra.

Here's the problem, cut and dry.

my climate control lights sometimes light and sometimes don't. usually just the recirculation button and auto button cut out, and sometimes its all the fan speeds and directions. when i put the key in the ignition and start it up, they'll either choose on or off and stay like that.

here's the kicker. they don't cut all the way off, but just emit a dim glow that is barely visible. the recirc button and auto button do this, but most of the other buttons are either on or off.

ah, on a side note; i turned the car on tonight and nothing, then for a second or two they came on and then dimmed again.

OK then, I'm having this problem as well with the recirc button and one of the other buttons that I can't remember.

I think it's a wiring problem for both of us, but don't know how to fix it and have more important things to do than chase down a solution...

Bumpity Bump :)

Yea... I have some lighting issues with my CC, but I will probably open it up soon and re-LED it, so hopefully I will find an obvious problem, otherwise I don't know what I'm looking for...

My buttons on the right side of the digi readout don't come on at all... the last couple times atleast, never really payed much attention to it before because I kind of thought that that was the way it was supposed to be... some of the other LED's are sort of inconsistent when it comes to button presses and such...

Help!?!

last night i turned the car on and the lights came on. as soon as i started letting the clutch out they went off. fidgiting with the gas pedal and clutch kinda brought them back, but i dont know if its coincidence

I have a problem similar to this too, whenever I would push the brake pedal, all of the lights on the CC would go dark, sometimes they would go dark, and then come back, dimly lit...then when I lift my foot off of the pedal, they come on and look normal....

I was figiting around under the passenger side kick panel is (up where the ECU wires are) and since I was in there snooping around, they seem to work perfectly now...lol

The illumination on my climate control is slightly dodgy as well...mine will sometimes come back (if only temporarily) if I press on the plastic bezel around the buttons--on the climate control panel itself, not on the black rubberized console piece--if that makes any sense.

It seems like the LEDs are suffering from a bad connection in the cc unit. I'm 99.9% sure that's what my problem is; check to see if you can influence the lights to come on by applying light pressure at different spots on the climate control.

johnathan1: You may be experiencing voltage drop when the taillights kick on--my instrument illumination dims slightly when I press the brakes. Could be a weak charging system or battery. Does it only affect the cc lights? Is the dimming when braking as noticeable when you have the interior illumination on but headlights off?
