the local "nissan crowd" in greenville is planning what i hope will be a large meet on january 8. most of the people who attend drive nissans but i attend the meets regularly and it has since become more of a car meet than a nissan meet. just figured id see if anyone else is interested. for the...
some guys i know here in greenville (nissan guys) are trying to arrange a fairly large meet i think. my room mate and i were invited out with our supras so it has since then become more of a car meet as opposed to a "nissan" meet. i saw that you are in nc and didnt know if youd be interested. it...
well i did use other diagnostic tools previously(leakdown, compression) just wondering if that was enough info to point me in another direction. thanks for the info, im done hijacking now.
so after reading it worried me. today i decided to check the oil cap trick(again). while standing at the front of the car, not bent over the engine or anything i can just barely see a little smoke but only if you look really hard. if i bend down and look really close i can see the smoke better...
im just wondering bc i think the last time i looked i had a little smoke coming out.however, my compression and leakdown test came back good. my motor was just rebuilt(its been a few months but not many miles). i have replaced the turbo as well and i still get bluish/gray smoke out the tail pipe...
so how much "smoke" coming out of the cap is bad? correct me if im wrong but i would think you will always have oil mist coming out due to it being slung around in the cam covers wouldn't you. i mean that is the same oil mist the pcv picks up and sends through the intake but with the cap off...
oh yeh, they are tanks but i cant afford two turbod supras, one is expensive enough and weight reduction is "free". also, why unsafe IJ? a lot of tract cars have lex instead of glass and plastic bodies instead of metal for that matter. im not going to go that hardcore but you get the point. if...
Ij, im not talking streetable weight reduction. Im talking strictly for track use weight reduction, no glass etc. I think it will be light enough to compete. If I feel like i need to go faster ill just drive my turbo mkiii
those pistons are in my turbo motor. they are 8.4:1. my interest in high comp pistons is for another motor im building for a supra "track car" that has/will have significant weight reduction. as most people on here will tell you, the turbo will give you way more power but i dont think ill need...
i know valve stems dont deal with compression but i thought that was what the leakdown was for, guess i was wrong. thats good, im hoping its the valve seals. also, the turbo i posted pics up is the old one not the one that is on there now. thanks for the help. also beafy, did you replace all...
ok, so the shop said the compression and leak down tests were good so that rules out rings and valves right? Unless of course they didnt actually do the leak down
