Hey all just curious. I've seen dyno sheet numbers of people making like 290hp and 400tq. How are people doing this? I'm not really going to go for much power now just going to do maybe a 57 trim from DM and call it a day with some supported boltons and a headgasket and all.
How do people get...
Well it's just irritating there's all these little things once you get started. Because I can't stand having things not working it bothers me. This is my first serious car work I've done, and made me realize I never ever want to be a mechanic. Lol. In one day by myself, I replaced all the shocks...
Well I'm using the harness that was iwth the 90 parts car. I don't know if that's original engin ein that car btw it runs amazing. The harness is still attached I pulled it with the harness. And thought I need to harness for GTE electronics?
What's going to happen for sure before I put it in is...
Dangit I'm not going to know how to do all this. From all my reading it was an easy swap. Now once I get to it I find out all these little things I haven't seen before. I'm going to have to buy a whole harness too? This is basically going to take away all the money to get a downpipe and...
Thanks that's very helpful. Where is that A/T starter located? We're about to lift the engine.
But other than that if I use the harness and computer from the 90 car as well as the ingition assy and stuff I'll be fine? I could probably post to see if anyone wants to trade an A/t computer for...
Not sure I really understand these responses. Yes going to keep the w58. We have a better ACT stage 3 clutch for it to hold the extra power. Going to upload a pic now of the computer's area. There was a few things unplugged so I don't know how toyota did it. If they had the auto and manual...
Hey all, the work is going decent so far on my first swap. Engine ready to be pulled out tomorrow. The only question we have right now is computers and harness...
My car which will be getting the whole engine is an 89 7mge 5spd. THe parts car is a 90 7mgte which came with a auto. The problem...
Ah I think you got it Jake. The guy who actually owned this car was a cheapo it'd seem. They had stickers all over and a cheapy taped up steering wheel...
Think these would be worth putting on my car or would they just make the ride terrible? Honestly the parts car looked 10x better than my...
Finally got a parts for to do a turbo swap and all. Had some different color springs that looked progressive and it sat lower than mine. Took them apart, original struts with springs... Wondering if any of you recognize them? If they're worth putting on my car or will just ruin the ride quality...
What do you think would be a better option?
Getting a 7mgte at a higher price around 1500 from ebay at low mileage, just do gasket and seals and what not on it.
or
Getting a 7mgte at hopefully junk yard prices one that has high mileage, blown or something and spending money machining...
I read the code for our state. Only on tail light is required. No reflectors required. Has to be visible within 500ft. And I also had the 3rd brake light, the pictures were only taken with parking lights on.
LEDs look ridiculous? It's just brighter light, I focused it a little smaller so I can have two circles instead of a stupid big square light. But everyone is bitching about how it looks so I'll just take it off, and find a way to restore tail lights.
Those "ridiculous" LEDs are quite a bit...
I'm sure it'd look better. If I got the car repainted and got a clear coat back. Then redid the tail lights like that, with less tint and a gloss layer.
Still a giant red bar across the back. I just dislike colored light lenses anyways. Have my theme of white car with black, and then the blue interior. And then there's some red and amber on their too. Like come on, we have LEDs now! But yeah that looks nice for the fact that your paint looks...
Well that's why I used plastidip so if I'd like to I can remove it. What do you mean it's probably functional too? Mine is functional all lights maintain normal brightness, the lights aren't as small as they look just my phone camera only capturing the hot spots.
Awhile ago I tried to screw in...
