I wasn't slagging off the setup, just saying it sounds like it would drive like a diesel. I for one like low down punch, I hate having to wait for power.
Hmmmmmmmm when I first got my car I pulled the engine and did a refresh. While the turbo was off I noticed the cracks in the housing so got my hands on another housing. When I put the turbo back on I had the same problem with the actuator arm hitting the brace. Will have to look at mine tonight...

Rod knock can't come and go. Once enough damage has been done that you can hear the rod rattling there is no way back.
Common noises that get confused with rod knock
Loose Cam wheel/s
loose drive plate (auto's)
loose TV damper
I remember reading on here a few months ago one member found that the filter for a Honda Accord fitted well and was a paper cone filter. I will have to see if I can dig up the thread.
