Saturday the 12th of July I organised a dynoday for all fast car lovers who are on my (and some befriended) forums. And while I am a true postwhore I decided I'll spam some youtube (and full version) video's over here too :)
We had some MKIV supras, MKIII 7M and JZ supras, a bunch of celica's...
Don't remove the gears or cps.
Just make sure timing is exactly at tdc and swap out your belt.
Be sure not to move the gears or crank while the belt is off.
For a real drift machine don't buy a supra.
Get a nissan S13/S14 instead.
For a real fast car and a 'once in a month' drifter get a MK3 body as cheap as possible and put a 2jz in it. :)
I also have a 89 supra and do have those wires.
you sure they ain't down there somewhere? they've got to be there.
the smaller connectors are for other functions, i believe one is for the rear abs sensor but i'm not sure.
Oh wait, I fabbed up a M$ Word document some time ago in which i collected all information and pictures available on supramania, supraforums and mkiiitech because a lot of info was scattered around.
Here's the complete document for getting the supra to run again, have working reverse lights and...
Man that is really thorough :aigo:
I just cranked it with a wrench for a few minutes, did the efi trick and oil pressure was coming after the 3rd time cranking. When it fired up, i got pressure instantly. :)

Make sure to crank for a few seconds, and do it multiple times until you see the oil pressure rise...

jeff is a nice guy and very trustworthy. A lot of people on these forums have bought his kit...
Maybe pointing out the obvious but did you check all the fuses, including the ones under the hood?
Fuses tend to die when you start soldering without the battery unhooked.
doesn't matter when you disconnect the short wire on the diagnoses plug.
as long as it's in there when setting the timing and as long as it's gone when you are goint to drive the car.
The way I think of it: ofcourse timing will be different. By how much, i don't know. but as you rev up the engine you can see the timing change when using a timing light.
So if your base is wrong, everything based on it will also be.
I guess differences around a 150 rpm shouldn't be such a...
