to the OP.... you are talking about more than one problem here. your starting issues and oil on the plugs are unrelated at this point.
take everyones advice and check all engine and harness grounds. our cars are old and the wires can get damaged over the years.
check the following grounds...
if you buy all the parts needed for a rebuilt... you can have it done for around $3000. plus you will know exactly whats going into it.
if youve pulled a motor before, then doing again should be pretty easy. just print out the section in the tsrm to guide the process
for your power goals, a great clutch can be had for under $700. especially if you plan on daily driving it. i am running the driftmotion stage IV (action 6 puck). its holds great and isnt too bad to drive
check it out
i would remove the undercover, jack up the front end, start the car and get underneath. wear goggles and use a flashlight. thats always how ive found leaks.
i just loosened the nuts on both mounts and the tranny mounts. then i took my floor jack and jacked up the side that needed to be changed. i left the bracket thats bolted to the motor on there. pretty easy. just take a look at it and you can figure it out
you need to adjust the window better. my driver side had the same problem. your probably need to get those window stabilizer things under the door panel. they have felt on them and yours is probably worn down.
you need 2 of them. they can be found at champion toyota. do a search here and...
what do you mean it sounds like you have a cam? sorry if i dont understand
does the idle jump around?
is there a misfire?
check the ISCV. sometimes they get dirty and its pretty easy to clean
check the codes
they give 2 different torque specs for the flywheel bolts. depends if your using moly lube or motor oil. i wonder what they might recommend if you use loctite?
check out the megans and ksports... they are pretty much the same and are affordable to the average mk3 owner. not to mention it will be a very noticeable difference from your last setup
its the temp sender wire. had the same exact symptoms a few years back. i believe the wire is green with red stripe. check your harness for damage starting at the thermostat and follow it back to the ecu. the damage is probably right over the cam gears

there is a good chance that 90 degree hose that boostjunkie mentioned is the culprit. that one goes pretty often since its so close to the exhaust manifold. otherwise it might be a bad waterpump gasket
