Wow I'm proud of you haha. I wish I was smart enough to actually take my pickup to the track. It is airbagged now but it used to be static dropped. Since I got my Supra I haven't driven it much. But my other 2wd pickup I do drive a lot it is all stock though. Also, I have these air shocks I got...
hahaha nice. It's probably because the trucks are always alive and drive-able. I know because that's how it is for me too. My Supra is being worked on and my truck is always running.
Cut up my HKS Super Drager exhaust today. I had to create more ground clearance now that I have 17 inch rims. I used to have 20s and the exhaust wasn't a big issue then. I also have Stance GR+ coilovers so it's pretty low now. I recently did a 2JZ swap too, so I have had to modify this exhaust...
I used a plastic plumbing hose adapter fitting. I just cut one of my 7MGTE heater hoses and used a 90 degree hose adapter to make it work. I had to stretch it by heating up the rubber but it should work in my opinion.
But I had another opinion about it. I relocated my battery to behind the passenger seat. I grounded it on the door sill on a bolt there. Should I run a ground from the battery to the block as well? The block is grounded to the frame rail also. But would the additional battery to block ground...
I hooked up my wiring for the check engine light. Got codes 21 and 31. So I think the reason it won't rev past 3000rpm is because of my AFM. Of course this is a 2JZGTE VVTi aristo engine so it has a AFM. I only got the meter with my engine and not the pipe that goes with it. So I just made a 3...
Ya I did. And it still isn't charging. I'm baffled.
Also, if I disconnected my oil pressure switch (on the oil filter/oil cooler) would my engine enter limp mode? I'm thinking maybe since the oil pressure switch is disconnected it is not controlling the vvti properly and I can't rev over 3000...
Here is the hole I cut. I used it for my 7M harness and now I have a 2JZGTE and I am still using the same hole. Had to remove the plastic covering on the 2JZ engine harness so that I could pull the wires inside the car a bit further.
See if you can pick up a cheap blow off valve around Calgary maybe? Even if it doesn't recirculate it would be wise in my opinion. Just will have to deal with some stalling. I remember hearing that same sound on my car where it sounds like tapping. I thought it sounded like something shooting...
You probably won't be able to get the mk3 coolant temp gauge to work. Your best bet is to get an aftermarket coolant temp sensor. Don't remove the 2JZ coolant temp sensor as it will effect how your engine runs.
Look at some wiring pinouts in the tsrm and you will understand why it is so hard to...
