I think the blitz sus filter has the most flow, because it is all metal and it sounds bitchin', but it probably doesn't filter that great. Who cares anyways because 1j's don't have airflow meters that would be destroyed from this!:naughty: at least it sounds good!!!!!!!
Just too give you guys a heads up, I work for Nissan and found that the 03-05 exhaust studs for the exhaust manifold and nuts off a Nissan 350z will work great on a 1jz. They are a tiny bit longer but still works fine with my single. They are the right pitch and are easy to get a hold...
it is not a toyota specific tool. You can get the tool from any Matco, Mac, or Snap-on tool guy, and it is very commen. Its cheap, like 30$ OR SOMETHING.I work for Nissan and we use the same tool and the same shimming technique for the KA24de. It saved me a bunch of time shimming my cams.
i changed my shims with the cams in the head. Their is a tool that you can buy that pushes the bucket down and another tool to hold the edge of the bucket down so you can pop them in and out. It takes getting used too but definitely is better that removing the cams.
I finallly got around to installing my Crower 272 small core cams with Titan cam gears into my 1jz, and my new intercooler. Shimming the cams in the car was a bitch and a half! Big thanks to Zazzn for getting me the cams. Hope to have it at the dyno soon! Here are a few pics-
why does it matter? Just make sure that you have a good timing belt and that the engine is timed correctly and their is no reason to worry about interference.
I tried to make some money off selling the RHD parts off of my 1jz clip and I ended up just throwing it all in the trash because nobody wanted it.:cry:
its funny because I used to have an all trac celica as my second car a few years back , and it is nothing power wise compared to the 1jz. The 3sgte has nothing over the way my 1j is now. I have had many high performance cars since then, rb20det 240sx ect...My Mk3 1jzgte is no comparison to a 4...
