Every car I have seen will stay in open loop and run on the rich side with set values until the coolent temp sensor tells the computer that the engine is at operating temp, then the car will go into closed loop and the o2 sensor will start to cycle rich/lean/rich/lean to try to hit that 14.7...
its not a fault in the engine. Every performance high horsepower turbo car has done the same exact thing in my experience. You must give the car time to reach operating temp, and then its fine. How can it be an o2 sensor if the car is running in open loop when its warming up, and its not using...
Yah, my car is the same way, even my last 3 mitsubishi eclipses were also the same way. I have to give my car at least 10 min of warm up so it doesn't break up in boost. My car even got a lot worst cold when I installed cams. I just give it a good 10min warm up, and I am cool:naughty:
well, I have a 60-1 on a 1jz and when I went from a 3.73 to a 4.30 I was so happy. The car pulled so much harder and was way more fun to drive. Me and Aaron from Driftmotion took my 3.73 lsd clutch pack and put it into a 4.30 open diff housing with gears, and made a custom 4.30 lsd. It works...
very nice, but I have a hard time believing it without a dyno slip, thats just how I am!:icon_razz Usuallly the stock twin numbers are pretty far from that. Also your engine bay looks super stock from the pics?
I will be ready in about 2 weeks after I work out a few bugs. I would only Trust Aaron from Driftmotion to tune it for me and nobody else---seriously!!
I just drove the car today, and it felt like it got almost got instant spool. I can't tell you exactly what rpm it got full boost by, cause I wasn't looking at the tach. My car needs to be tuned badly, but the turbo spooled very fast. I have no traction in 1st and 2nd gear at all!!! It is in...
You can fit a custom intercooler no problem if you buy the right size. I bought mine from driftmotion and it fits great, and I was still able to keep the core support and hydrofan cooler. I am also using the 2.5" piping kit from Driftmotion that works great with the IC. I only had to remove my...
I would like to start out at about 12 psi and go from their until I max out my injectors or until I start to get any detonation. I have a Mk4 fuel pump, 540's, and an adjustable FPR, and I am tuning with a Zeitronix wideband w/ Egt, and a Safc. I know the SAFC is going to be what holds me back...
I am running an SS autochrome manifold with a T3 flange, I had all the flanges plained flat and it heavily ported. I am going to see how it goes with the t3 flange, if I don't like it then I have a t4 manifold also that I will use.
Finally got the new setup running. Garrett 60-1, with crower cams, huge intercooler and hks 540cc injectors. The car is running great, but haven't had a chance to take for a spin yet. Going to the dyno in a week or so. Here is a pic.
The Greddy's have a 5 bolt and are cheaper than the HKS with the 3 bolt. I don't know if maybe they will hold better without the chance of slipping. I am using the Titan motorsports cam gears, they are 5 bolt and they are awesome, especially for the price!
Me and Aaron from driftmotion took my 3.9 lsd rear end and took a 4.3 non lsd rear end and made a 4.3 lsd out of the two using the 4.3 case and ring and pinion gear, and the lsd assemblly from my old rear end. It works awesome and made a big difference in acceleration!:naughty:
I got an rb20det clip form them for my old 240sx. The clip was missing a few things, but it was very clean and ran great. the shipping was very good and fast but it was kind of hard to communicate with the shop. I had a lot better experience with Driftmotion, on getting my 1jzgte clip !!
a clip is definitely the way to go. It comes with a bunch of parts that you will need for the swap that will be hard to come by if you buy a motorset. Its a bitch to get the engine out of the clip, but it is well worth it!! And you never know what kind of goodies you will get with the...
