More wet sanding done today. The nose piece was a complete PITA. You pretty much have to lay down in front of it while you sand. Its a good thing I was on the uphill side. I guess Im doing it right because it is taking a long time to complete.

Wet sanding is a bitch. I have been wet sanding this primer for many hours now - the hood and cab are flat and I have about 50% of the body done. Its getting way too cold out there. I wrapped it up at 1:30 AM Im pretty sure that my neighbors think im crazy.

Oh - and pulling the tranny is pretty easy - it helps to loosen the motor mounts so that the engine can be rocked backwards to access the top bellhousing bolts.

I agree with you on that - I dont think that 2800lb is too much for a clutch. If thats the plate he got I think he will be OK. Whats the stock rating like 2400-2500 lbs? A sprung disc is good too because it isnt so harsh on your drivetrain. But, he should be sure that he bypasses the...

A lot of guys run the triple plate carbon clutches on SF and say that they drive like stock. Single, Twin, Triple etc, the engagement of the clutch depends on the construction of the friction discs (materials/sprung/etc) and not necessarially the amount of plates. Some of the unsprung OS...

When you push the clutch pedal in it pulls on the pressure plate which is directly connected to the crankshaft. The thrust washer takes all of this force. Its a pretty dinky non-pressure lubricated (splash and runoff lubricated) bearing surface. HP really isnt a factor. Look for crank walk...

I would consider not going with the single plate high pressure clutch. Many a crank walk has occurred that way. I would just spend the money and get a multi plate

Im using PPG products. DP40LF K38 BC/CC I just got the front/rear bumpers primed and back on. I screwed up and didnt mix in enough catalyst on the primer, but for some reason I realized what I was doing after the first light coat and re-mixed it and shot again. It set up OK so I think im...

I just read the Stinger manual and it said to do what I suggested *edit* it doest say to do exactly what I suggested but it also doesnt account for the fact that a resistor pack will be wired up in the circuit. You have to measure out the circuit to get the correct resistance: You can do a...

Ok, so according to the stinger wire diagram the circuit basically goes like this: +12 source -> resistor pack -> injectors -> ecu pin 10, 20, or 30 (as per what you said). Looking at the wire diagram you posted the ecu uses pins 23, 12, 11, or 24 to control it. I dont understand why you...

Are you still using the resistor pack? That link just describes how to check the resistor pack and doesnt include the fuel injectors. The easiest way to check would be to unplug the harness and test each circuit with an ohmmeter where it plugs into the ECU. It will take you 5 minutes.

OK just as long as they arent Venom brand. So if each injector is 3 ohms and they are in series of 2 then it should be set at 6 ohms, right? If they are wired in parallel it should be set at 1.5 ohms.... http://www.ibiblio.org/obp/electricCircuits/DC/DC_7.html

    1jzgte thrust bearings

Not to be a doomsday prophet, but you will most likely have to rebuild the entire engine. Usually, the crankshaft will rub on the main caps and throw metal throughout the engine. Your bearing are most likely gone. Additionally, with the crank sliding back and forth, the rods were no longer...

Ok, so the stinger can automatically compensate. Did you actually measure the resistance of the injectors with an ohmmeter? And doesnt the stinger batch fire injectors? Are you compensating for the change in resistance for them being wired in series? And what brand are they?

And food for thought: If you are consistently running rich and requiring a substantial amout of leaning out in order to get the AFRs right, you may need to tell the computer that the injectors are a bit larger than your setting is. I think that PT rates their injectors at a 90% duty cycle and RC...

Ive spent much time over the last few days applying the K38 primer and block sanding. Finally the hood is flat and most of the body is straight. There are a couple of small nicks/dings but I just filled them. Tomorrow ill give them a quick sanding and be done with it. Next I will be priming...
