+1 and valves aren't stronger then forged pistons
A aggressive tune (500whp @ 17 psi with a 35r sounds aggressive) + some weak gas from the trip = boom
GT42 will not fit, you need to move the flange forward to clear, hence a custom manifold... try to find someone that does manifold fabrications (check honda-tech for a fab guy) local to you to do some custom work.

A/c is easy to get working, the cruise control is a bit harder. You'll have to get a custom cable for it, or figure a way to swap the 2jz cable over somehow. I never looked into it to much, I sold my car before I wanted put it back in.

lets not forgot a major part of the high demand for car is partly because the car its self.
maybe 94, not a 97-98.. 2-3 years after being bought new for 45k is worth less then 1/2? I dont know if even Kias go down that much in value in that amount of time.
