Yeah Justin - I think that the IS coils run as wasted spark whereas it fires both cylinders simultaneously every revolution. How many wires run into each coil from the ignitor?
Does a traditional spark plug wire run to the cylinder with the dirty plug or is that one where the coil sits on top...
so what is your deck height?
The valve that looks like it isnt closed all the way - what is the clearance between the shim and the cam? Is it the same shim you were running before or did you just put one in there?
did you take into consideration the temperature-controlled butterfly stop? I assume you are running a stock ecu? I have an AEM so I just configured it like it told me to.
I think that some people may be using a Ford TPS. The best thing I could tell you is to look at the TSRM specs for the...
does it have stock pistons in it and has the deck been machined?
All I need is for you to put a straightedge across the middle of 3&4 or 2&5 with the pistons at TDC and use a feeler gauge to determine how high they come up out of the bore or stay below the top.
Does anybody have an unmodified stock 2JZGTE block that they could measure the piston deck height on? It should only take you a couple of minutes if you have the head off....
Yes - im using a 7M CPS. Im not getting any errors though so I dont think its a CPS issue.
Ive pretty much given up on trying to get it started until I move later this week, and come to the conclusion that I need to check the timing yet again. I think my neighbors are getting pissed at the...
I didnt notice that you had replied in this thread until tonight when I came back to review everybody's inputs again.
The reason I was talking about timing is because it seems like that is the only thing that is holding me back. This is why:
The other day I took the car out on a rural road...
Thanks Jay. I spent a lot of time on this car.
Brian - I will be moving down to Palmdale/Lancaster next week.
If I was to spray the paint again I wouldnt have used a sealer coat, only spot sealed areas I had sanded through. The sealer didnt lay down smooth and you can see a small bit of...
Looks like you have it under control! As soon as your machinist gets a good look at everything you will know what piston size to order... For the record, I dont recommend boring this block to gain power, only to refresh it, so dont go and order the biggest pistons that you can find.....
In this instance I think you should purchase a dealer part. The bend right out of the top of the valve cover will be tough to replicate. A straight hose will kink. Plus the stock hose is a metric size so you will probably have to use a hose clamp or force a smaller hose onto the valve cover...
How is this any different than the guys running NAT GE engines? Its still a headgasket adjusted CR with less than ideal squish.....
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16 some guys in this thread are pumping out over 700 HP with their NAT setup!
