550s on a 1JZ = 48% more
720s on a JDM 2JZ = 63% more
720s on a USDM 2JZ = 30% more.
Doesn't matter. I didn't find it unbelievable, I was just curious if he had anything on there already.
My 1JZ with GT40-88, stock radiator, did a few dyno pulls, made 400whp@15psi, coolant temperature didn't budge a single degree the entire run. Jumped up maybe 5 degrees at the beginning of the run, stayed rock stable.
This was with the hydrofan.
Honestly, it's an awesome price for the piping. I wouldn't trust the muffler for long though :)
I used to have a china y-pipe/dp on my car, and it was awesome.
I suppose, but then it's all down to tire composition more than anything else. Soft rubber + seipes, and you're all set.
Like I said, I've never gottem my Supra stuck in snow, (or ice). I can motor up icy hills no problem. Michellin X-Ice 205/55s :)
My Yokohama 285/40s won't even bother...
I have. I don't have any pictures of it on my server right now though. I made some LED clusters, and soldered them into the bulb holders. It's looks decent, but I'm going to re-do them in white LEDs soon.
As for gauges, I run Boost, Oil Press, and EGT. Oil pressure is really the only one...
By control your rev-limit I assume you mean raise it? I don't think that can be done with a piggyback. Your closest bet would be to buy a chipped ECU off the forums. You can find them with raised limits, and tuned for 550s with a little patience.
Everything else looks like a decent setup though.
Well. Very well.
Aside from a hell of a lot of wind noise, I have yet to find a speed that the MKIII felt unstable at. I took it up to 150mph a while back, but got scared, and let off. The car was rock solid the whole time though.
My Single 1.5JZ gets the same milage as my stock 1JZ....
....which is "sucks". I still DD it though. The extra tank or 2 of gas a month over my Celica is worth having 5 times the power.
