Replacing the valve cover gaskets doesn't get you halfway to a HG job... Replace the old rubber components and torque the headbolts and call it a day.

It will cost the same as replacing a blown HG, as long as no other damage is done. Just retorque and you should be fine for at least another 21k miles.

is your HAC plugged in? that would cause your 32 Afm could cause the 24 ECU isnt receiving an ignition signal causing the code 14, does the tach move at all when you crank the car? if not your CPS wiring is most likely the culprit.

I would suggest just trying to find a proper year harness, it will save a bunch of headache and your time.

Maybe the difference in the vin is for "wide" body and the narrow body that some of you guys have overseas??

The red arrow looks like its pointing to the breather hose for the iac, if you're having an idle issure this could be causing it. or it could be the coolant line that runs through the throttle body and iac from underneath the intake mani.

is it a catch can of an aluminum rad overflow? Theres really no way for coolant to make it in the catch can.

Look for a built 7M, 80% of the time you'll be able to find a fully built motor for cheaper than it would cost to do it yourself.
