Pearl White 91T 2JZ swap and build-up! 56k *lots of pics*

I haven't been online in about two weeks due to moving and not having internet until now. I went to the track last week, and untuned, still at 7-8.5psi, ran 13.4 @ 104mph with a crappy 2.21 60ft time (no traction on stock 225's). With a better launch, I'm sure I could see 12's as it sits. I...

Pearl White 91T 2JZ swap and build-up! 56k *lots of pics*

Well, no real updates right now as I'm just working out all the bugs and making things pretty. I got a full 3" exhaust on it, and the difference is night and day! I haven't had it to the track yet, so all I've really been able to do is guess as to what the performance is like, but tonight I got...

Finished 2jzgte Supra MK3 Swaps Updates?

Driving it > cleaning it. lol Nah, I'm just waiting till I find a good powdercoating place to coat my pipes and valve covers before I pull it apart and make it pretty. Collin

    2JZ - H20 Temperature gauge sender

The 2 wire sensor is used for the ECU to determine operating temp, and the single wire sensor is for the temp gauge, which is compatible with the A70 cluster. Just wire the existing sensor on the engine, and you're all good to go. Mine works great! Collin

Need help converting 88 to 89 look

I have one of each? :D Actually, my 91 even has pre-89 turn signals on it now because I like the larger signals even on the 89+ bumper. I think they're both beautiful, but I really like the front end of the pre-89! Collin

Don't you mean a GTE engine registry since this isn't a Supra specific site? ;) Collin

MOES's Bigger is better > SWAP

If you pick up some V-band ends and U-bends, it's pretty simple to make your own downpipe. That's what I did. :D Collin

will the horsepower potential over do the massive weight

I am building a 500-600hp street/track car (twisties, not 1/4 mile) out of my 91 Supra. It's heavy yes, but that makes it stable, and with bone stock suspension I can make that car do things that the little cars won't do just because they don't have the weight to keep them on the ground. With...

    Exhaust wrap?

If I can get rid of all the other heat sources, I'm not too worried about exhaust housing of the turbo after it's been coated. I'd actually prefer to let that part breathe a little to keep the heat down in the CHRA so that I don't have to idle the car for 10 minutes before I shut it off, lol...

    Exhaust wrap?

Well, I think the game plan will be to first (after fixing coolant leak and acc. belt/tensioner issue) get a real exhaust on it and see if that helps. If it's still hotter than I feel comfortable with, I'll be pulling the turbo, manifold, and downpipe back out, high-temp coating the exhaust...

    Exhaust wrap?

The two outlets are on the water neck and then one of the returns is on the water pump and the other is on the hard bypass at the back of the head. I'd have to run a line past the turbo and all the HOT exhaust parts to another nipple. I've thought about it, but I have no idea how I'd keep it off...

    Exhaust wrap?

I'm thinking the split loom that I used on the harness may be of shitty quality, but it's still a little too warm for my liking. No exhaust leaks except for downpipe > cat because I didn't put a gasket in there as I'll be pulling it off in favor of a 3" soon. Collin

    Exhaust wrap?

The one I'm having trouble with this time is on the bypass pipe on the pass. side right next to the downpipe. There isn't another one to connect it to. :( Collin

    Exhaust wrap?

I think the car is going to be parked again for the winter. I'm leaving the insurance on it this time since the difference is only $186, just in case I need to move it somewhere. Before I consider it road worthy it needs a coolant leak fixed thanks to the excessive heat killing another bypass...

    Exhaust wrap?

I don't have an EGT gauge, but the problem may be due to the fact that I am stull running a stock exhaust, and it's very restrictive compared to the rest of my setup. It hasn't started to melt the wiring yet as much as the split loom around it is melting a bit, and I want to do something about...

    Exhaust wrap?

That's what I was thinking I would do. So nobody has had a problem with manifolds cracking from holding the extra heat in? Collin

    Exhaust wrap?

Do you have any before and after experience with the ceramic coated manifold? Did coating it really make a big difference with underhood temps? I was told that wrapping it works much better. I've had ceramic coated headers on non-turbo cars, and they didn't really hold in much heat over...

    Exhaust wrap?

I'm having problems with underhood temps going high enough that my new wiring harness is melting! It was suggested to me that I wrap the exhaust manifold and downpipe with a DEI exhaust wrap, and I was planning on it until a buddy of mine said that keeping all that heat in would cause my...
