not sure if anyone asked you this yet or not, but does the noise increase or get faster when you rev it up? usualy rod knock will get louder or faster with a rev.
I believe the noise you are refering to are your valves/lifters. my car makes the same sounds at idle, its just how the motor sounds. nothing wrong with it.
I would suggest getting a different MBC, i hope you didn't buy that MBC off of suprasport cause the same one is alot cheaper on ebay..lol. back when i had a MBC i use the ebay Voodoo MBC and it actualy work pretty good, i think i only paid like $10 for it. Im now using an electronic boost...
Im using the divoreced down pipe and it is amazing. it really added some power and woke the car up. not to mention the great sound when the wastegate opens up :). since you dont konw why theres an extra pipe for the waste gate i'll inform you.. its pretty simple really. It simply dumps the...
lol you beat a TT with 5.5 psi? thats impressive. isn't stock boost 6-7psi? I couldnt stand only running 5.5 psi. I'v been running 18-24psi daily for quite some time now.
actualy it was just a simple mistake on my part, the time is in fact correct. The first time i lined the crank pulley up at 0* the cam marks were pointing straight down instead of up, i then turned the crank pulley around one more time to 0* and the cam marks were pointing straight up like they...
Ok well as some of you know i recently had my crank pulley replaced. After it was replaced i set the crank pulley at 0* and i noticed that the cam gear marks were not pointing straight up like they use to.. do the cam gear marks need to point straight up when the crank is at 0*? If so how do i...
back home there was a guy with a Ford F-150, he had it twin turbo'd and he was pushing 100 Pounds of Boost!!! It was absolutly nasty. I got to watch him run down the track and it spun the whole way..lol
mines been running great since my build last october *knock on wood*. , for exception of the incident with the crank pulley. its great to see the pole is over 50% for running supras!!
Ya the pulley itsself was just over $600, so they marked that up quite a bit. Anyways, at this point its done, its fixed, i can live with it. I'v never encountered this issue before so i had no idea what to do, so i did what i did. Thanks for all the help and advice guys, much appreciated!
ok thanks for clearing taht up... they said there was no damage at all done to the crank. remember as soon as i heard the noise i pulled over and shut the car off and had it towed. I didn't drive it any further.
They said they torqued it to 195ft. lbs. Im not sure exactly how the keyways work or where their located at, on the recipt it said under parts ordered pulley, keyway, bolt. The price for the keyway was like $9. somthing
well i think i simply got lucky.. went and picked up the car and its running perfectly. They replaced the balancer/pulley, keyways, and new bolt. From the looks and feel of things they did a great job on the car, they even gave me a free ice scraper!! haha ... only reason i took it to this shop...
my next question is... would any of whats happened effect my timing in anyway? will i need to adjust things? I also doubt they did any corner cutting in fixing things because when they called me they were very picky and telling me every little thing that was wrong with the car with leaks and...
