The connector on my tps is bad on the 7mgte, i was wondering how i could remove the connector from the harness and possibly repair it? Or would anyone know where i could buy a brand new connector, and how to R&R it?
has anyone ever had this problem before? I think the metal contacts inside the tps connector are loose and i think i may have to pull them together tighter to get a connection with the VTA tps signal. I tried using conductive grease and it didn't work so i'll be doing more testing to see if i...
My driving problem is when i'm WOT it's sputters through boost... you know? Vroom... ba... vroom.. ba... vroom all the way through the power band... It's the VTA signal that may be shorted or not working and causing the code, because that's what the EFI section on the TSRM says about 41...
I found all the articles relating to the 7mgte and the tps related ohms, resistance, and voltage testing... Is this all correct? I'm not sure what the significance of the fuel cut rpm is but it's related to the tps?
Why would i trace the wiring? I could just test each pin in the tps connector in conjunction with the ecu... But i didn't have this code before i put the new tps on while i was getting code 51... since i tested the old tps and it was bad.. had a break in IDL and E2.
U asked which code is it? It's 41. Specifically pinpointing it to the TPS and not 51 which can be various things. So i tuned it and now it's still throwing the code.. This is a brand new tps and it's all tuned and within specs in all conditions.
We took the tps off again. Tuned it perfectly just as the tsrm says, got it to deflect tightened screws then tested it to see if it's within specs and it is.. Installed it and we r still getting code 41 only... Why is this? If the battery is bad would it have anything to do with it?
yeah i really like the vvti since it makes torque at a really low rpm compared the 7m-ge. Also i wonder if the 2jz-ge vvti is more rev happy than the 7m-ge? Also would the 2jz-ge be more rev happy with gte cams? Do the 7mge engine mounts work with the 2j? also what about running power...
yes, its going to be cheaper for me to run a 2j than spend about $1000 on a new crank kit, installation and all new fluids etc etc when im getting the 2jz-ge for a really reasonable price. What's required?
I'm just looking for a cheap swap since i'll be getting the engine, ecu, and wire harness for a very very reasonable price. My 7m-ge at the moment has a bad crank. I could spend like atleast $500 to get it fixed or just get an upgraded version of the 7m. 2JZ-GE. So i could use the 7m oil...
My friend has a LEXUS SC300 with a 2jz-ge vvti and i was gonna just buy it from him for really cheap and drop it in my 89' na supra. Also i'm not going to be using the automatic. I'm going to use my W-58 and possible SPEC clutch kit? Also there r some features i wasn't sure about like the TCS...
It's throwing code 34 and 41 now.. 34 boost pressure, 41 tps. I tested and tuned the test before installing it. All the resistance Ohm values were all in spec... i don't get it. maybe i'll unplug the tps and blow out the connector and the sensor connections. Could a bad vsv cause 34? also...
already have an aftermarket boost gauge. also we figured out that the clutch is bad. its slipping when we get into boost. also it runs ok when you only run about 5 psi but when I turn it up just a little bit it looks like it boosts to about 9 psi or so and hits fuel cut....
There were leaks** LOL :)
**About the supra : I turned the boost down by turning the bolt out. I had it at 5psi and it boosted through but was cutting out alot. So I examined alot of hoses and the 2 PCV hoses were leaking.. so that's a leak. Also should i worry about one the vsv's filters...
well there are no leaks. It's boosting too much. It'll hit boost but right before it's gonna go fully into boost it cuts out.. I know it's hitting fuel cut.
