Curious to see what rear ends everyone is using with the Getrag 6-speed when installed into a MKIII? How do you like the combination that you are using? Are you going through the gears too fast, RPMS in 6th gear while cruising, gas mileage...any comments in this area would be appreciated...
Ever thought of doing a 1.5JZ install? You are at the perfect situation for it right now. Buy a new 2jz block from Champion in Houston (See Jeff Watson) and refresh the head. Swap all the 1jz stuff, use a 2jz timing and serpentine belt, and modify the coolant line and wala--1.5JZGTE. The...
All Eclipse stereo equipment is made by Fujitsu-ten, the same manufacturer as the stock head unit in our MKIII's. They used the same harnesses for their aftermarket equipment as they did the OEM equipment that they put in Toyota's. All Eclipse head units plug directly into our factory harness.
If it was me, I would use the the ones you have and just get the clips. Depending on what turbo you choose, you should be able to meet your goal if set up properly. I asume this is going into a MKIII that has had a heart transplant. If so, you should already have the 7m resistor pack and can...
Based on what you said in your post, you have US spec 550's. The jdm's are 440cc and are high impedience. The US spec are supposed to be 550cc, but I believe that there was a post out there that debated this and proved that they were actually lower flowing. The US are also low impedience and...
If the cracks are on the posts below the coil pack, use heat shrink. All you are trying to do is stop the spark from leaving the post and grounding out. Epoxy will work just fine, but it's messy. You can pick up large enough heat shrink at your local auto parts store.
Just a thought, but if you are going to have the trans out already and you will be replacing the flywheel bolts now would be a good time to inspect the rear main seal or just replace it.
If I read his quetion right, he has a 5-speed car and is going to use a spare auto ecu. If this is true, then the wiring for an auto is not there and there would be no nuetral safety switch to bypass.
Also, if the car was originally an auto and was converted to a 5-speed, then he should have...
I talked to the technician at Majestic and he told me that he would get back to me on Monday with boost and Hp numbers. I also asked him to see if a ball bearing center section was available and he said he would call all his contacts and give me an answer.
I will report back when I hear from...
I have had a few discusion with Majestic Turbo in Waco Texas in the last few days and they told me that they can rebuild them for $350 per turbo. That is if they don't have cracked housings or any other damage than just normal wear like seals and bearings. They also told me that the ceramic...
