Already went there...the guy said they would work but without machining them to match i risk breaking the cam. Some local guys have turned me on to a good machine shop that they said can do it. I am going to look into that.
I finally got my other engine that had low compression torn apart. Found that the head was the cause. No problem, I have an entire motor that has been machined and "built" so I can just bolt the head on there. Somehow in all of my shuffling around and moving I seem to have lost the cam caps...
yeah the rust is ugly....but its also boat anchor sleeper lol. I was looking at painting it....i will have to see how easy it cleans up with a wire brush and wheel.
The oddest part is that there is a small amt. of play in the pistons when they are at the top of the cylinder. However only 1...

Finally got off my ass and did something with the Silver car....the fate of the red one is still unknown. For those that wont read the entire thread, the car came with a mildly built motor and upon further review has poor compression in 1 cylinder. 8 mos after the test was...
Actually through Bing if you know him. I decided to pass on the wheels as running a narrow tire will not help at all my HP plans regardless of the phenomenal pricing. I need to be smart about it and as much as I would love them, I need a decent enough tire to make use of 1-3 gears on the car :)
I can get an amazing once in a lifetime type deal on some CCW classics if I act quickly. I have searched for other MK3 members with them but did not find anything.

I was thinking about LS1 and 6spd swapping my 89MK3 but it doesnt seem like anyone other than one guy has done it and he had to do alot of custom work.
What other motor/tranny swaps have we seen in MK3s?
