Your radiator looks to be original. If it is, it could very well be getting clogged. Years ago, I had an issue in the summer, where the temp would be fine while driving, but if I turned on AC, it would begin to overheat. I was right at the maximum heat transfer threshold of the cooling system, with AC off. Replaced the radiator, and never ran hot again.
Sadly it was the head gasket, but I will flush the radiator when I get the head back and start putting it back together.

I guess the radiator was a little dirtier than I thought :)

No clogs or leaks though. Shame it is not easy to replace this on an auto car with the Mishimoto Bru recommended.
