The Originals would never get short enough because when threading the main shock body towards the bottom, the shock casing bottomed out on the bottom of the bottom tube by the bottom bushing. The only way was to run a lot of slack on the spring bottom retaining rings, which in turn, bottomed out the shock stroke itself. This was only necessary because the bottom bushing was needless inches away from the bottom of the bottom shock bracket. That paragraph uses the word bottom 10 times. I prefer the word top, as in top notch awesome. See picture for clarity.

Can't bottom out now, there is no bottom :)

The blue rings on top and bottom were touching before. Can go way lower if desired but the frame would literally be on the earth. Still lots of room to go up.

Success!

This is how it hangs with no weight on it. Used to droop a few inches because the spring was so loose just to get the ride height to look "cool"

damn nice. How much did these pieces end up costing in the end with the welding labor?

The cutting, grinding, making bushings, sandblasting, painting etc was a good 10-12 hours of my own time.

The fabrication was about $100 but I traded my friend some tires I wasn't using.

shock mounts turned out fantastic. I was little worried at the initial shot of it, but with the bracing they turned out great.

Thanks.
I had the feeling a few people thought my mock-up tack weld was the final project LOL.
I spent $100 at a proper licensed welded to make them correct.
The loading is quite similar to a lof of car that have the strut bolt sideways to the front spindles, like an S13
