This will be my thread to show progress on my 1988 N/A Targa 5speed ....
I picked it up from a guy that scraps cars for side money ... he was gonna E-bay it and if it didn't sell there it would go in for scrap. I bought it for $400 ( actually traded a gun valued at $400 for it) and he hauled it home on a rollback for me .... car came with a title and no keys , but was pretty much complete ...

whats your plans for it?

if you need an ignition with matching key, along with door and trunk lock sets let me know, i have a parts car that will never see the road again.

So after I got the title in my name I took out the passenger side door lock (thats the one with the codes) and took it to the locksmith and had keys made for $20 .... In the mean time I had been cleaning, cleaning and some more cleaning on the inside and outside ..... more pics shortly ...

Having troubles uploading photos to my host site right now so have to wait awhile for some more .... but after getting it running I had a couple known issues ....
1 was high pressure line on steering pump had a pinhole awas loosing fluid (fixed today with new line) ....
2 was the drivers side door handle is broke and you can't lock and un-lock from that side without tripping the alarm (handle on the way) ...
3 check engine light with code 52 (knock sensor) (haven't got into that yet) ....
4 blows white smoke out the exhaust on start up sometimes (goes away after a couple minutes or doesn't do it at all) ...haven't really figured this one out yet , still doing diagnosis ...

So yesterday I fixed the biggest area of surface rust that was on the car (on the driverside rear quarter) and put on a $10 muffler I picked up ... there's a couple smaller areas of rust that I will be addressing later ...

So that brings me up to today .... this morning I put on the new power steering high pressue hose (no pics just lotsa dirt and grime) although I can tell ya when replacing that line you only need to unbolt the passenger side of the steering rack and jack it up a little and you can fish the line between it and the subframe then ..... also decide to do the SOGI mod and love it !!
