Seeing it's on an NA it'd be interesting having a before and after flow bench tests!

On the factory 5.0 Mustang EFI manifold, the results are very good. The CFM increase isn't huge, but it does go up, and distribution is much better.

Keep in mind, that is a stock 5.0, not a Supra. But airflow typically goes from low of 85%, meaning lowest flowing to within 5% of high and low.

I come from a land down under
Looking at our port size v's valve size/area Id' guess the restriction is at the valves not in the intake but that's just a guess on my part so I'd love to see real data! :) (I'm a bit nerdy that way)

Any good head shops or race teams in your area?

I don't know about any race teams, but the guy that did my head had to send it to North Carolina to be tested, so i am not sure it would be worth the cost to have the manifold sent up there to be tested. I will give him a call tomorrow and ask just to know.

What do you have to do to adapt it? Will you still use the 7m throttle body? Will the ACIS still work the same? This would be sweeeet!!!
I was going this way before the ITBs. The spacing for the lower to upper intake is closer than a complete 2J intake. Yes the ACIS would work too. The 7M throttle body is close in size to the 2J. To me it is a winwin and a very nice mod if someone would see it thru. We did flow the 7M intake on my head to see if it would kill what we worked so hard to achieve. That is why I started looking for something better. I don't recall the numbers as it was not a major thing to record.

what TBs are you using, and do you have more information on these ITBS, and this may seem like a little OT, but what management are you using, maft in speed density?

On my set up the ITBs are from a RB26, which will be speed density. My EMS is Holley 950.

you, myfriend need to get this done, and strap that bitch to a dyno. then you need to make the stroker kit, and the ITBS and sell them to me :)

I've been thinking about just staying NA on my supra. So how's the ported intake compared to the ITB's?

And to the thread creator looks like you are doing a good job porting the intake. Keep us posted!

Noboby has done a test to compare the two yet. The one that can flow the highest cfm, would be what you want. I would say ITBs would be the winner, but like I said no side by side test yet. Also a ported or a modified N/A 2J intake may be a good cost offset to ITBs.

i think the ITB setup would have more total area in the air flow than one big one. someone make a slide bore throttle body with some kinda adapter for the TPS. lol. 0 restriction at WOT. Another thing i want to see someone make...A tubular FFIM similar to a shorty header or something. I think that would flow better than the runners/tank style manifold.

Oh yeah and can anyone tell me the point of that flapper thing in the intake? I have heard refference to it shortening the air intake tract, But i cant see how as its still gota move through the same manifold/runners....

just curious, since you've done tons of research on it.. but how does air filtration on itb's work? or is that completely done away with?

I'm using the plenum from the Skyline also. I'm working on a hood that will vent or ram air into the plenum without looking stupid with a large filter box.

wonderful idea.... i didn't know there was a plenum you were using... but that exact idea came into my mind (plenum + filter + hood vent) just thought i'd ask first :D
