Just wanted to know what got you guys into modifying cars? How long have you been doing it for?

Here a pic of my dad and me(in the stroller) the pic was taken in 89
Its a 1986 Toyota Celica GT-S
Full kaminari kit
MOMO Rims - at that time it was around $700 per rim
Car was put in many local car shows

It was my dad who got me into modifying cars. He's been doing it as a hobby since he was growing up in the Philippines. Once i started with the supra I got hooked. I don't think I'll ever stop...

So what about you guys

Bought my first car when I was 14, a 63 rambler station wagon, for 85.00, it needed a starter, after three bad ones I got her running perfectly as a camp vehicle for the next two years. I couldnt drive it, my Mom allowed some older friends to drive it on our explorartions all over socal camping surfing, and shooting. That was 1971 36 years and around 40-45 vehicles ago.

17 years or so...started with a helping a friend's and his dad restore and mod MGB's and his 86 celica, and eventually graduated to my own 81 civic...1500cc of carbed bliss. The rest has been a haze of burning rubber, oil, bloody knuckles and lots of noises.

You never forget your first :D

First one was one of these:

Got to the point of messing with stuff like this:

Then I found this:

Which eventually led to this:

These days I'm happy with this:

Jdub, love the Heavy Chevy's! I had a '67 327 Malibu. But my first car was 1975 Chevy Monza that I dropped in a built LT-1 350(in 1981) it would lift the front left tire 6" off the ground when I got traction.
