well i had an issue wiht my car with wich i had no control over

here is the story

car ran well for like 2 1/2 week's slowy bumping up the boost from 10 to for one week and 15 for the last week and half

did a leak down and it was perfect

whent on the dnyo did a pull t 15 pounds spun the rollers though out the hole range and recorded 535 woot

then went for a 24 pound pull and i saw my boost guage peg

but the dyno recorded 24 pounds once he cut it off after that run is persure the block and melted 4 pistons was over boosting

2 got ass fucked the other 3 had sticky upper ring that is all

p1750083_1.jpg

p1750083_2.jpg

last one just had sticky ring and sligh melt

pisont are je's that have bean coated coating came off as well

tunner saying he doe not under stand why they melt wiht a 11 ratio at max of 17 dagress of timing

what do you think happend

i runing water meth as well aem kit

can melt even wiht good a/r's

Sorry to hear about this Ryan, it looks like there is quite a bit of scuffing on the skirts of the two but it could just be the pics. I wouldn't suspect a lean condition at 11afr or detonation with that timing either.what meth mix were you running at the time?

to add to this I did not run a oil squrters and I ran a crank scaper

but there no burn/tranish on any of the under sides of the pistons

Sure the wideband sensor is good?
Even if it is, it's still measuring an average across all 6 cylinders.

Something clearly got far too hot in there - overboost might cause that, but in such a short time period? On JE pistons that have been coated? Sounds fishy. Blue windshield washer fluid? Sounds like a weak link to me. I'd check the injectors too, especially the ones on the cylinders that failed miserably. You're not running Venom injectors, are you?

Meth injector might have laid down. Guy on ModFords just fried a built short block for the exact same reason.

i asked you these a while ago, but don't remember and answers:
What's pulling the heat out of the pistons,
Which side are the oil ports on the piston,
What was the piston to wall clearance,
What's the ring gap?

I think those suckers heated up and the ridges on the crown caused it to go boom at the wrong time. I bet that scuffed piston had the tightest wall clearance. My two cents, but it's just speculation.

Is this the same head you already had repaired? I'd forget about another attempt at another fix. find good used head, that ones just going to do it again, don't you think?

I want to see your timing map.

---------- Post added at 01:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 AM ----------

I would also find a new tuner.

it over boosted bad that what killed it

but i going to take a loook at my map when i can
If it overboosted the tuner should have already had a safety map with less timing and more fuel in those upper ranges just in case.
