For those of you with a 4" turbo inlet: what filter do you use?

Do you have it clamped on? When I put it on it would stay, but when I tightened my clamp it wanted to pop off. Also couldn't force it past the bead, so I didn't end up using it. I tried and tried to get that to work, but it just wouldn't lol.
What's the length on that? If it'll fit in my engine bay, I'd likely take it off your hands. :)

The K&N is not a good filter. It gives you great airflow, sure, however, it doesn't actually filter anything smaller than pea gravel. It'll work fine in ocean climates, or any place with high humidity, but where it matters, use one of the filters that works - AEM and Blitz are the best, IIRC.

Now that i think about it i think i had the same thing happen so i just cut the bead off and it stays on fine.

Correction: Apexi / AEM are the best available, but the Apexi doesn't come in a large enough size that I've found.

This is what i've come to learn. Really wanted the Apexi, for its internal design.

I don't think the K&N is a bad filter but the AEM dryflow has out performed the K&N in almost every test aside from airflow as GrimJack stated.

View attachment aem test.pdf
The tests were done with filter size 4" inlet & 9" tall accross the board

It was more convenient for me to get the K&N at the time since it was available locally and I was test fitting in the parkiing lot. Although if i had done my homework and checked for fitment ahead of time; I would have definately gone with the AEM dryflow. I personally decided to add a prefilter to help with filtration and liquid contamination.

Old-ish thread, but for the record, i ended up getting the AEM dry-flow filter.

That is what mine looks like. The aem dry flow filters are awesome. Been using mine for about a year and a half and it still looks new.
