eBay H3 fog bulbs, anyone tried these?

They're inexpensive, and come in yellow tints. Assuming this is the kind that will fit the 86.5 fog housing...anybody try them? (I haven't been able to get the rubber off the back of my fog light yet to see what's inside..it glued itself on..tips on removing that without tearing it would be appreciated)

If anyone has tried 'em, how do the yellow ones look? I did some searching and it seems that people wanting yellow fogs use tinted covers that go over the bulb...no talk of yellow bulbs.

I'm not sure about the very faint looking tint on these, so maybe getting clears to match my headlamps would be best, but I thought I'd ask.

Says they're made by CEC Industries out of Illinois. http://ceclighting.com/user/_ProdHalogen_view.php?editid1=H3+55W

What's causing the yellow? Doesn't look like it's the bulb itself but I haven't looked inside these so i can't tell.

Either way, what bulb are you using?

Fog Insert Capsule. Its basically a bulb ballon that incases the bulb. The capsule itself is yellow. You can fit them in Pre89 lamps, my particular set are JDM

Just use inserts from a Lexus..

I had those bulbs in my 89 and they're no where near as yellow as my Lexus inserts

you can buy some off of me, or find some in the junk yard, ES250s and LS400's should have them..

jw.. how do those fog capsules mount onto the fogs btw? im planning to stop by a junk sometime but i wanna make sure how it fits

for 89+ they screw right in, you just need to ground them (I wrap a wire around one of the screws and use a spade connector to plug into the stock ground)

or pre 89 you cut out the capsule from the cage, pop off the back of the foglight housing, slip it in and close it up..

I have them in normal hyper white, only bad thing I found so far is that the male plug part is thinner then normal so it don't fit tight. I just bent it I little and worked fine.

With a 89+ Bumper and Fogs like RazoE said they screw right in. You also have the option of making them Euro Spec or JDM Spec easier. Simple difference one has the Blinder Shield on it the other doesn't. 89+ have the shields on the insert itself. Pre89 Lamps are riveted in place on the inside of the lamp.

Thanks Razo, and everyone else.

I'll snatch a set of clears and maybe get some inserts later. I just want my lights back, and I want either nice white light or a good yellow, not some faded off-white yellow. :p

How much for the inserts Razo? If they're cheap and do work with pre-89's then perhaps!
