It jumps around, but the idle isn't steady. It idles up and down about 100 rpm (guessing by sound since I'm not watching the tach) and the fuel pressure changes with the idle. It seems to change when the IAC opens to raise the idle, less vacuum.
I drive a turbo Escort, not sure what TSRM is.
Does it sound like it could be a weak spark issue to anyone else?
I tested the coils between terminals A and B. Hot resistance was between 0.5 and 0.65. The most resistance in the plug wires was the longest wire at 4300 ohms. The Autolites he had in there for less then a day had heavy carbon deposits on the outer ring and clean electrodes/ceramic.
The only boost leak left is the one from the IAC. The fresh air intake for the valve leaks boost back into the intake before the turbo. It is after the MAF so it is not leaking metered air. But, it is making the turbo work harder. The diaphram for the IAC is basically destroyed so I'm sure that is why it leaks boost. I believe he has ordered a new one. I feel it is also important to mention that he ran a tank of leaded race gas through the car. I know this can have an adverse effect on O2 sensors so it is possible that his wideband isn't displaying properly. Although, according to Innovate, leaded gas will reduce the life of the sensor but not destroy it in one tank. I do wonder if there was enough lead sticking to the valves to cause them not to properly seat.
Also, another thought, how common is head lift in these cars?
