that's what I figured. I just got back from pick and pull and nabbed one. the 89+ sensor wouldn't work either way because its too long and the power steering reserviour would crush it. I appreciate the feed back
the connector was also in bad shape so I had to go ahead and heatshrink a new one on
the main thing I want to figure out is if I can mix match a 89+ ecu coolant sensor with an 87 style harness. they have different connectors and I understand i sound stupid right now but can a different connector be spliced in to fit the sensor and work?

I never heard of the 86.5 tps being different from the 87. but I could be wrong. 89+ are different I know Cuz I've been there.
the throttle body and the the throttle cable bracket doesn't match up tho. I'm just trying to figure out which one is jdm because Im 100% it is a jdm motor. the Guy i bought it from only installed the motor in the car and nothing else.

I've just recently bought an 87 Turbo! yes I finally got a Turbo. after 5 years of driving the N/A I wanted something more. so I got an 87 Turbo for $750 hella deal.

dang right there on the plaque it says Nov. of 1986.5 but I can see it being an 87 but that's still good I'm in the top 10k lol I appreciate the help I googled for hours trying to figure that out

Yeah thats what i was thinking but i wasnt sure if it was something out of the ordinary or not since its the 86.5. is there anyway to find what number the car was off the assembly line by looking at the vin tho? ill post pics of what im talking about.
