So managed to get get into the workshop this morning for a few hours to find a boost leak, nice being a Refrigeration Engineer, as I have access to certain equipment.
I used a small liquid line refrigeration drier to form a plug/bung with 1/4" fitting and then clamped it down...
Yea, sure thing, I was going to remove the 57mm Hose (where the bov is located) and put the bung in there, and then pressurize from the coldside of the turbo.

Ok, I will get the nitrogen and make sure that my system is holding...
I am going to test from the hose coming from the turbo that leads to intercooler, then back too 3000 pipe.
I will update everyone with results.
Matt.
Thanks for the replys so far guys.

Wouldn't it be present all the time if it was a boost leak issue? The car will pull to 140mhp from a stand still with the boost gauge pinned at 10 p.s.i

Hey all, Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm having problems again!
The original engine that was in the car suffered of rod knock a few weeks later, anyway another engine was sourced and installed, this came from a JDM 89 Manual Turbo. During the install process I had replaced most stock...
Remember there are two types of Compressor surge...
Rotational stall: Is what you have... which is nothing to worry about. It's not doing any damage at, and sounds good.
Axi-symmetric stall: Very bad, this is when the turbo is pushing too much into the intake with out it being used. This...
Typically: needs re-gassing. more than likely some of your seals have gone bad too.
Has the system ever worked? or is this just a recent occurrence?
Matt.
Hey guys,
What are your thoughts on this exhaust, I have priced up various systems. To me this system being complete is the most worth while.
Anyway what are your thoughts?

Small chance: Intake manifold gasket leak...
I am talking out my arse now, I will let jdub commence with the advice from now on.
Before I retire for my bed, it seems like the car is being flooded after start, however you mention that it will run fine with your foot on the accelerator but soon...
I am sure you know why code 11 was there.
By any small chance... Did you connect the PS idle up hose at the bottom of the accordion?
I have forgotten it once and died at idle. Are there any mishaps when starting the car?
What's the "idle" like at a steady 1500rpm?
Matt.
jdub is right mate, he is the legend!
He is here to help. I got loads of help from him. Yes I am a newb, and yes I only had my car for 13 days, but I was reading this forum for days on end to research a new engine. So all of my posts where to the point and fully explained to the best of my...
This sort of set-up was on one of my JDM Gen 5 Celica's. (A140E)
On the Celica, it would make the car change a 2k no matter where you accelerator was. I, from what I can make out was a winter mode of some sort. However this is why:
According to the Work shop manual, "manu" is intended for...
