My ebay 62-1 turbo, manifold and intercooler have worked really well so far..im about 4k+ miles on my swap.. I run around 14psi driven pretty hard.. The turbo spools pretty good, but im sure a real 62-1 would spool better and produce more power; but for $279.00 I'm not complaning..if this...
Not really, theres alot of ebay supra manifold that work really well( i have one)...I would love to see a hks manifold dynoed next to a ebay manifold...i bet the different won't be more than 10hp I'm guessing; however the cost will be hundreds more..
If you have the money to spend buy a name...
well i have about $3.5k-4k in my swap, but i got lucky and got a clean 1jz/r154 combo for $1900 shipped..I didn't have to rebuild mine.....yet lol ....plus i did all the work in house (dad and brother), even built my own trans mount, motor cross member, did the wiring..etc
nope, so i suggest go 2jzgte.. this not a matter of choosing a good engine, these are 3 of the best import engines out there, this a matter of choosing the right one..you can get a jdm 2jzgte for around 1500-2000 shipped and roll the twins for awhile. the wiring is straight forward if you have...
Just save and go 2jz... The 1jz in my 260z is just crazy but im only 2400lbs. The mk3 is a heavy so the 2jz is the best choice of the three.. how about 2jzge/t?
Well, that one is very rare, hard to get and very expensive..on top of that it's kinda old being that you need one from a 87-88 turbo 300zx. So to pay $700-$800 for a 20+ year old rear end is crazy..I can get a '04 wrx sti rear for around $400-$500, this one needs custom adapters.
The stock rear is r180 3.30 which is great for a cruiser but a 3.50 or a 3.70 gear i think would be the perfect balance.
As of right now it's not lsd but maybe next year i plan to go with a r180 lsd from a wrx sti, or a r230 from a 90's 300zx..
ok, cool thats good to know.. now i got to buy a turbo blanket..:(
Do you guys think i should go standalone for 350-400whp? i have a safc 1 laying around.
