I wouldn't put an 89+ Harness on a Pre 89 Engine. I personally have done the entire motor swap from 88 to 89 and there should only be a few problems. The Alarm will not work, one of the pins is in the wrong place on the 89 and doesnt match up to the 88 body harness. And if you're not swapping...

The A/T Harness does not have either of the clutch switches, you have to wire them in yourself.

The 89+ R154's had a 3.71 behind them so It'll be off by ~16% And it doesn't really matter to me if the ODO is off, I don't plan on selling it anytime soon, and I can always unplug the speedo to keep the ODO low.
