yo dre, you don't need a partnumber, just drive by an autoparts shop, ask for a bosch 3 wire and have them look at the flange type you need and you're good to go
You don't blow your engine when the head gasket goes, actually it is used as a failsafe in some drag racers to prevent bigger damage ;)
btw, I would reuse the hks as well if it still looked ok
but the noise stops if you disconnect or switch off the avc-r?
how do you have the solenoid mounted now, if you bolt it down without the rubber inbetween the solenoid can go fubar after a while, they warn about that in the manual as well..
The solenoid of the avc-r makes quite some noise when it's active. (pulsating noise)
Have you used the little piece of rubber when you bolted it to the car?
copy-paste from your other topic:
You might have bumped the plug to the edge of the hole when putting it in. It doesn't need that big of a tap to change the gap.
However, I don't think it was 12mm, that's about half an inch ;) (I live in the metric side of the world)
Good to hear it is running!

Yep we did post at exactly the same time, lol!
But in post #11 I already said it had to do with the wastegates, but tissimo's post after that threw me off, it was some time ago and therefore I wasn't sure anymore.
I have cold started my engine several times with the eman blue monitoring on a laptop to tune my coldstart/idling. I have an onboard aem uego wideband hooked up to the eman.
On my engine it starts going into closed loop within 30sec, even with these winter temps. I assume all 1jz's using the...
let me explain
The narrowband which is used on our 1jz's (zirconia type) generates a voltage based on the amount of oxigen in the exhaust gasses. This narrowbands cross count voltage is 0.45V and works binary: The ecu looks at the 0.45V, anything below 0.45V it reads 'leaner than 14.7' anything...
It is the generic serial cable, that doesn't work.
I run XP and it works perfectly if you have the greddy cable. There's some intelligence halfway in the cable, covered by a black rubber hose that does the trick.
You can hook up the aem uego to the greddy boost port and log the signal, it works very good. I have that same wideband.
I run 800cc sards on a blitz ecu with the eman, btw
first few seconds after start it is not running in closed loop, you are correct in that, but within 20 to 30 seconds it will start running in closed loop and start searching for the 14.7 a/f
@88mkIIIproject, no, you cannot install a wideband as an oem replacement, they work in a completely...
I think it's the O2 sensor, the easiest way is trying one from a car that is working properly.
do you have an onboard wideband? when warmed up and in closed loop situations you should be able to see the a/f's bouncing up and down between 14.2 and 15.2 (roughly) at a pace of two to three times...
besides the ignition harness you need a little circuitry to keep the IGF signal happy, I haven't played with timing yet and it is only usefull on a dyno to see the results of the alterations.
well, that's a tough one
I can tell you boost leak has nothing to do with running rich, 1jz have map, so the ecu injects fuel based on what it reads in the manifold, whatever is leaking out between turbo and manifold doesn't effect the fuelling
map sensor
you can check it's functioning with the eman; start up the 'real time display' and see if the pressure sensor input values react to throttle. It should vary between 2 - 4V roughly.
you can also mail me a log file of the engine idling and some runs; make sure to select:
rpm, throttle...
eman does nothing more than apply a correction factor to the signal, so if stock is 370 and what you run now is 680 you put in both values and it calculates the correction factor of 0.544
max. correction the eman can handle is 150% bigger top of my head
well, there was a reason he used two fronts, maybe it was bolt pattern, I don't recall, it is about 4 years ago now
his username is youp, both here as on sf, if you search on that you will find the thread
