I think you should check for spark then fuel. A more likley scenario is the t-belt let go.

There is a green filter over the stock display and the #s are green LED. Actually the whole case is a transluscent green.

Toyota never made a belt driven interference motor. It isnt too bad of a design. Just make sure to replace WP everytime t-belt gets changed. As for 7MGTE progress... Got the other engine pulled and apart. First time I have ever seen a good 7M composite head gasket. Will send the head out...

Pull the oil pan and look in the bottom of it. There will usually be plenty of tell tell signs in the oil pan.

Am in the process of getting the turbo engine out now. Everytime I take soething out of the way that harness and engine install looks uglier. A little background on the turbo car. He bought the car and immediately blew a HG. Had that reapired and drove for almost a year when it blew again...
