I not getting ripped off. I got a friend that lets me use his alignment rack to let me work my own alignments. The average I see advertised are the 'Lifetime alignments' from Firestone, Goodyear, ETC.
Man hunt for a sale on jacks. Lincoln just increased their price on jacks across the board. The China imitations are coming up right behind them. A good quality jack cant be beat however. Picked up my 3.5 ton jack with 2 stands for under $200.
That is a fine example of a MKIII with the exception of the hood. If I had to choose from the options above, I would go with the MKIII. It just has more 'presence' to me.
As s0ulstar just stated, take it to a quality suspension shop. Any shop that is advertising $69.95 alignments arent going the full alignment for you. The term they use is 'set the toe and let it go'. A good alignment will take more than 20 minutes and will save you money in tires down the road.
Short term goal: Get it running again.
Long term: I want a healthy streetable car that is fun to drive. I am shooting for the 400-ish RWHP mark. That should put me in the driveable range with street tires.

Test your TPS. It shouldnt be that difficult to set unless you have worn contacts in that area it needs to be.
