On an improperly tuned/running motor there will be plenty of crud on the pistons. Considering you had a BHG and probably some well worn plugs it isnt surprising at all to see pistons like that. Without doing a leak down test or measuring the ring gap it is hard to say what shape the rings are...

I havent seen a defroster switch that didnt have a timer in it. The way the switch is assembled I can tthink of a way to mod it to work like you are wanting. The best I can think of it to build you a custom switch panel and install your own rocker switches.

Not recomended in boosted applications. Remeber we use the oil to cool the turbine and the motor as well.

Have you tried checking the VF signal at the ECM to see if there are any variations? Right now my mind isnt comprehending a negative voltage reading.

No, they are blown from cylinder compression pushing them out.

Might just be me but I have always left the studs in my engine until it was time to clean or replace them. It really isnt that difficult to lift the head straight up until it clears the studs.

^^ You think that is bad, try the little elbow on the auto tranmissions. Never would have thought that little peice would be so much.

#5 & 6 look like they were blown to me. THe water passages are deformed on both of them.

It is either cracked or the gasket isnt seated properly.

If your volts drop from 12V to 8V just by hooking up the negative cable it isnt a parasitic draw. Thats like a bulb lit up somewhere lighting up a dark tunnel.
