Get a catch can if you're worried about keeping oil out of the intake. Breathers are the Debil. Maintaining vacuum in the crank case is even more important in an older engine. The greatest benefit as far as I know is that it helps the rings seal better. Wouldn't you rather your compressed air...

B&M does not. There was someone, perhaps a couple people, who managed to mod a B&M shifter for the IS300 (IIRC) to fit... I can't recall how it turned out though. I think the thread was on SF.

They both could've just been bought as a sort of "package deal". I see alot of ads around here which state "comes with parts car, will not seperate". It's just as possible that it was the end of someone's dream.

Don't forget to weld the rear half axles to the leaf springs... if they're not well connected you get a lot of movement. :evil2:

Actually, shortening the top does reduce the throw distance of the knob. However, it also reduces your leverage.

If you've ever driven in a car with a true short shifter you'd understand why it's desirable for the MKIII. In some vehicles I think they're too much, but the MKIII's throw is just too long. It's definitely on my list.
