Okay, let's clarify things here... I want to avoid false assumptions because people assume that everyone who reads this knows what they're talking about.
The MAF-T, MAFT Gen II and the MAFT Pro are all DIFFERENT!
The original MAF-T is only available for certain vehicles and ONLY enables you to...
If you mean yu want to install the driver;s side of two switches so you've got auto up and down on both sides you'll naad to install an aftermarket controller. Pull out the stocker and you'll see what I mean. There's no room for that kind of hack job.
My driver's side moves about twice the speed it was. It was about 5 or 6 seconds from full open to closed, now it's probably just under three. Moves about a third faster than my passenger window... that used to be the "fast" one. ;)
Yeah pretty basic device, I've got four here from different Toyotas. I haven't tested them, but I'd be surprised if they didn't all open at around the same temp.
Perhaps with the 89+. I didn't look at the wiring, but even if it is compatible the pre89's would have to swap the trim piece around...
^^^EXCELLENT!!! Have I ever mentioned that you're my favorite newbie here? No? Well you are.... don't pay attention when someone tells you that I say that to all the newbies... I don't it's all you!
Seriously though, I agree with that line of thought completely and I'm very glad to see some...
Well, what i was asking about is not compatible with 4th Gen Celicas.... I needed the tracks, not the motor. I got the track this morning at a salvage yard... ugh. Then I spent several hours at my father-in-law's trying to get the Celica tracks modded and drilling mounting holes in my door to...
I was only point out a couple solutions which would speed it up to something within specs when it was new.
Homer, I HIGHLY doubt over powering the motor is the key. If anything there may be an inhibitor.
Well, i went a pulled a regulator. I was thinking about the whole quicker window thing and two things occurred to me: old motor, added resistance on the old track just do to wear, and the preload spring!
I suspect that a newer motor, lubing up the tracks and/or replacing as needed and...
Interesting little fact: The coolant "overflow" tank is actually a full fledged reservoir!
As the system cools and as it heats up coolant contracts and expands... the excess is dumpered into the reservoir where it is later pulled from as things cool down....
In other words, ADD COOLANT TO...
I'll see your nozzles and raise you a newer Buick. Newer Buicks and many other GM vehicles have those but the mount to the wiper arm and most salvage yards will give them to you for free. ;)
I was REALLY hoping someone would say that. There's a salvage yard a few miles from here with a bunch of those. THANKS!
I don't know. Wouldn't mind it myself. I presume our window motors use a gear box? If so, it might be possible to rework it.
Another possibility is a bad radiator cap. I was loosing coolant for a while and it was dumping out the over flow and simply drying up before I would check it.
Fill in the pits.... forget it.
When buying a used head either buy from a reputable seller or get one from a yard and when you pick it up take a machinists straight edge to make sure it's at least level enough to machine flat.
Well, I know that some parts fit our cars or can be made to fit with minimal effort... does anyone know of a model with compatible window regulator tracks? Such as perhaps older Celicas.
Feel feel free to use this thread to compile other OEM Toyota parts which are compatible with our cars as...
Personally, I'd refrain from running anything other than factory specs if you're not sure if the car is in good running order.
As for bumping the timing, a healthy 7M-GE can take a significant bump without upping the octane level.
86yota, what octane are you running anyway?
