Is the question you mentioned in your post? I worded that badly. I read that the dynamic compression is affected by the amount of forced induction. I thought there might be a number for each psi added to boost that changes the dynamic compression. Appreciate the quick reply. Will be using...
Hello all,
I'm looking for an accurate compression ratio calculator for our engines. Going to be going with a cometic hg, probe pistons, and eagle rods. Not sure about what bore is needed yet, but everythings at the machine shop now so I'm looking for the calculator. I searched this forum...
There are people out there running the vein pressure converter, I know a guy locally who has one. But I think you don't see as many now for a few reasons: a. they're still pretty pricey b. they are older, and less adjustable/accurate unless set to stock compared to the maftpro c. they are not...
I agree, the Eagles aren't a bad price - but with everything else I'm planning it really adds up. I'm really thinking on Probe pistons for my application of 400's. If I was going higher, I would for sure probably go with a JE, Wiseco, Ross or CP. After doing some looking around, I'm a little...
Yes, I heard that about the JE's. Kind of scared me about the piston slap even after warm up I've got a friend with Probe who hasn't had any issues, but if I go forged I will for sure do my research beforehand. Thanks.
Hello everybody. When I first got the car I went back and re-torqued the head. Didn't have a torque wrench, so I just tightened without it...but this was before I had done any serious modifications. I recently blew my headgasket (no major blow, just barely), and I have decided to go ahead and...
I am currently in the market for a turbo. I have the stock CT26, and am considering CT26 with 57 and 60 trim. Why does the 60 trim have a reputation for being unreliable? I am also very interested in bolt on turbos, but I can't seem to find much information on them. My friend had a 57 and...
Thanks for the info, i'm going to check that out later this week. Yea i hope it's the problem if not i'll be ordering a another bov i guess, I'm going to be relocating it this time just in case as well. i've heard from other members that the knock offs tend to go bad when they're so close to...
Yes, if you recirculate it should fix it. For some reason, it seems like some ECU's allow it whilst others don't. If you go with maftpro or standalone eventually, it shouldn't stall either.
Wait, why is it better for the turbos health to have it close? I thought the heat from the turbo would cause the diaphragm to melt? I have a knock off HKS SSQV from DM and it's fluttering now i think because of its proximity to turbo. Or is it just knock offs that can't be close? Do the...
I have heard of fitment issues with the Mishimotos; however, I ordered one from DriftMotion and it fit perfect. Also, just use the stock cap unless you have replaced all of the hoses already. The Mishimoto cap is higher pressure, which in turn raises the boiling point of your coolant (not...
I have an 89. My car doesn't stall at all with a BOV and I'm not running standalone/MAFTPRO. I have the basic mods: 550's, Lexus housing, IC + Piping, Mishimoto, HKS bov, ect. Why am I not stalling out? I know others who couldn't blow off to the atmosphere without stalling out until they...
