egr stands for exhaust gas recirculation. there's no coolant involved in the egr system. maybe you mistaken a coolant hose for a vacuum hose? or just totally f'ed up the hg?

anything thats not working. while your in there might as well change all the little o-rings where everything meets together so you know for sure you dont have any leaks.

actually i remember seeing somewhere selling new harness's not from toyota but with all toyota plugs and same color wires. idk where and it was a long time ago but they were about the same price.

take the belt off and see if it spins freely. might want to check your thermostat and rad cap as well.
