usually about 30 more in cali. 89 is 10 more than 87 and then 91 is 20 more than 89 at chevron and shell. some of the cheap places are just 10 more than 89.

a coolant leak will give you the symptoms you have. the gurgling is from air in the system.
although you could have a bhg and its just pressure the cooling system too much and something gave way.
i would do a block test to make sure.
wack it a few times with a hammer and see if it starts. the smaller part on the starter that is. if it does get a new one as it will freeze on you again.
also if you have a volt meter you could check for 12v in the pos bat cables and the wires to the battery.
