Well that is nice to know. But as long as you have a good air filter(not k&n or hks) and you do not try to clean it it should be fine unless it craps out.
Why do you think one is older than the other?
If they dont have adjustment screws it is either a v2 or v3 and iirc the v3 just came out not too long ago.
When they are placed over the turbo the heat will cause them to turn gold fyi.

Metal against plastic or metal against rubber = rubbing through the plastic or rubber = metal against a pos cable = grounded hot wire = melted unless hopefully it pops a fuse in time which it might not.
It can be avoided tho.

I love my greddy type s tho and also would like to have a tial. Too many people have the hks and it got old rather quick for me.

The difference between the 2 is one has an adjustment and the other doesnt.
My understanding was that people thought that they could raise the boost or it would work "better" by tightening the screws(which the screw was there for adjustment for higher boost levels) and too many people ended up...
alum doesnt rust. brake cleaner just oxidizes the finish.
I wouldnt put rubber or plastic things in gas.
Maybe go get some purple power and just spray it on and scrub or dip in gas and scrub.
