Yeah I've heard a lot of horror stories pike yours. I've got so much money into mine that I'm scared to put it together for fear of having a situation like yours..
I'm triple cleaning everything, going extremely slow on assembly, measuring clearances over and over. And replacing everything...
Well what .50 and .25 translates into is 20 thou, and 10 thou off my crank. Is it the hardening of the crank that I ought to be worried about or does it come down to affecting the bearings and clearances more?
I just can't imagine at my goals being able to throw enough at this crank to make it...
So my machine shop had to remove .50 from the rod journals (because of spun rod) and .25 from the mains. Has anyone had any actual success or the more probable failure from running the 6m crank with that much taken off?

O i see what your saying your taljjng about just them by themselves. Your right if you have the means for standalone and know someone that can tune it youre set and wont regret it. Otherwise piggyback, afpr, wideband is plenty for most peoples goals...but you have to know what your doing there too.
I agree with the part that the Lexus/550 mod was intended for more flow without fuel cut but also disagree with the part that the lexus/550's will not allow for tuning...what's the difference with those from tuning with stock AFM and stock injectors?

From what ive read from peoples experiences and from the results ive seen in person...taking 10 thousands of a crank and putting in some oversized bearings isn't near as important as the proper clearances and clean assembly of the motor.
I don't doubt it weakens the crank a little but c'mon man...
