Im fairly new to this stuff and haven't heard of this before but that is a great idea. Would take my mind off my biggest fear a little more. Ever seen one of these switches wired up on an mk3?
That is very cool. Sorry for not knowing jack but when you say Motec dash is that just the standalone or is there a whole motec kit that goes together to accomplish engine management like this?
Am I missing something? If you are going to do all the work yourself go price the parts your going to replace and ta-da, you have how much it will cost you.
Had some time to pick up a few small parts from Toyota over lunch today. Cam cover screws, throttle body gasket, cam gear dowel pins and oil filter. Also had them order me a few other new gaskets and bolts that I am missing.
Tried to order a new cold start injector line but apparently...
Your probably right but....I tell ya what, if this thing goes I will fully except responibilty, punch myself in the head, and tackle the pita job of replacing it with engine in. Then I will come back on this build thread and bitch about doing it so you can hand me my ass lol. Gonna play with...
I can see your point on both of those suggestions and I agree 100%. I planned to pull the harness and will probably do it this week. The gasket on the EGR cooler I will honestly probably take my chances on...I haven't heard anything bad about top line gaskets and it looked to be good quality. I...
Haha that might not be a bad idea..this thing is going in next weekend one way or the other! I was getting so discouraged there for awhile thinking I will never find what goes where, but after finding the EPC...game over!
Made the greatest discovery of my life last night..the answer to my problems with the build lie in the electronic parts catalog. It has exploded views of everything down to the bolt sizes and part numbers. If I would have been using this the whole time I would be done by now.
Waiting on some...
I have one of their heads. I have a build thread with pictures of it. I think they do a great job. The finish was excellent, everything was set to spec, and the customer service was great. They communicate much better through email though. I had some trouble getting my old head to them in the 30...
This makes me regret not painting my block.. Looks nice man. I do like the blue. With blue spark plug wires, vac hose kit, and blue filter that should set it off nicely.
Uhhh...or just get a GTE and leave it stock and your leaps ahead of the NA...if your looking to have a car to race around (seems like that's the case) you don't want to go NA...your gonna end up pulling that out and going turbo once u spend a bunch of money trying to get the NA to give u a woody.
Gonna order some cam cover hex screws before i screw those in. Other than that I'm just waiting until i have time to stop at toyota for some new gam gear dowel pins, a throttle body gasket (for some reason my rebuld gasket set didnt come with one), an oil filter, and some new knock sensors...
Remembering which bolts and studs go where on this front timing cover area has been fun..other than the mounting bracket on the bottom hanging there with one bolt does anything jump out at anyone here?
