Guaging Interest in a Parts Weight Database

Right on, web based util that would just pole from a DB of parts and their corrisponding weights would be useful. Who/How would people submit to this database? Maybe a free signup wiki style where any user could submit or vote on changes?

    clutch install question

Reign, I didn't use my alignment tool. The TSRM says to put the pressure plate/clutch disk on before putting the tranny in...who knows why though. Originally I thought it had to do with the clutch fork not fitting in after it's bolted up, but that wasn't a problem either. Was kind of annoying...

    Ok... opinions on this rust

That type of rust because of the wheel well lip that's in behind there. The only way for it to rust is if crud stays there wet for a looooong time. So, it's rusting through =) When (if) you grind that out, you'll be left with not a whole lot of wheel well left and replacing that area with new...

    TobyCat's winter buildup

Small update: I sold my winter daily driver to a good friend of mine who was in the market for a beater, and put the supra back on the road. Oh what a dream it is to drive a car that works and has power. I never thought 7 months of tercel could be so hard :) Anyways, got the coilovers back...

    Clutch...looking for thoughts.

Yup, I got my ACT HD00 kit from eBay...it's not shitty =D Unless you're pushing 350+tq then you should be OK on a stock disk for a while. No guarantees it won't slip a bit, but should last you at least until you go big.

I might sell my soul for Prosport Peak and Hold gauges

Yeah, does anybody have the link to the SF thread? I'd like to read some reviews from people who own them. SuperSupraKid: How was their customer support when dealing with product/warranty returns? Keep us posted on how things go.

I might sell my soul for Prosport Peak and Hold gauges

Yeah, I can see the point why waste money on a web designer but with companies moving away from local to internet stores, the web page is now the curb appeal. I'd never walk into a store that looks terrible (unless of course highly recommended) but I am much more willing to walk into a store...

I might sell my soul for Prosport Peak and Hold gauges

Those look absolutely amazing too, great price! I was just hunting down a set of greddy gauges (boost/egt/afr) for an a pillar. Only problem, what's the deal with the ghetto webpage?

    INNOVATION? foil on intake

It's not that the foil didn't get warm, rather aluminum is a GREAT heat conductor and cooled quickly to your touch. This is the reason why ICs are mainly aluminum. Sort of like when you put in some garlic bread into the oven for 20 minutes and you can pull it out with your hands touching just...

    CarPC Build Underway

First off, when it comes to computers...I know a few things ;) Your 233MHz home PC is vastly different from a low power/heat integrated system. For example, your PII (I'm guessing) would most likely have a video card that supports hardware decoding of DVDs. I'm fairly certain that at around...

    CarPC Build Underway

cool, GL with the carputer! if you need any help, feel free to msg me...I've done it before =) First thing tho, @500mhz you may not have enough CPU speed to do what you think you can. DVDs will be out of the question unless the board comes with a hardware mpeg decoder. What board/cpu are you...

    TobyCat's winter buildup

Yeah, I'm getting pretty excited too! The coilovers are off getting painted, and I'm waiting on some dust boots. Appearently HPF sells them and I'm waiting on them to see how quickly they can get them up here. Also, Zensport can get them in but there is a 2week wait. We'll see. I think I may...

    Silent_sniper's build

Get some penetrating oil in there and use an impact gun. It looks like you've mangled it quit a bit already so if all else fails just drill it ou and replace it with some new bolts. Be sure to use never sieze on ALL your exhaust threads so that this doesn't happen again =) GL

    TobyCat's winter buildup

    TobyCat's winter buildup

This morning the FedEx dude came and delivered a gorgeous looking, non-damaged lip from shineauto. Oh yeah, it's awesome! Big thanks to shine for the absolutely amazing customer service! Also, I've been grinding down all the rusty bits off of the TEINs, and picked up a wirewheel for my...

    Silent_sniper's build

lol, the rubber stopper must've broke so somebody decided to ghetto mod it with a spark plug/rubber hose. That's not supposed to connect to anything..it's just a plug for RHD heater cores IIRC.
