What did you pay for paint work?

If i was to drop my car off as is 4 shops quoted between $10 and $15. Maaco said they would do a 2 stage for $1800 if I prep. 2 shops quoted $1500 for dupont 3 stage materials, and between 500 and 1000 for spraying. None of these incude door jams or engine bay. I think i am going to prep...

What did you pay for paint work?

I am in the process of shopping around for a paint job. I am curious what others have paid. I have no rust, dents, only door dings, my window moldings are shot, i am just going for a respray in a slightly different shade of silver. I am also adding bomex sides, rears, and probably whale tail...

    Sheedy Built Supra

I think you need a shorter line as well. Try to get a drain that offers the steepest angle as possible and minimizes the flat spots. I would never run a return that had any length of horizontal line or fitting in it. If you have room, going to a larger diameter line would probably help, but...

    Sheedy Built Supra

^ great advice on the drain. My journal bearing bw instructions told me to prime my turbo before actually starting. I cranked for a while until i saw oil flowing from my -14 drain. My drain goes where the factory return goes (1jz). I have never had an oiling issue.

What jack are people using who are lowered with side skirts? I imagine jacking up your car becomes a bit more difficult?

Install the FCD before or after SAFC ?

the whole reason I went with 550s was to use SAFCII to get around fuel cut. works awesome for me. As long as you can pull enough fuel to never let the ECU know how much boost you are actually making it works great. with my AFPR and SAFC II i have a decent tune (on the rich side). I try to...

    Fuel pressure regulator upgrade

i agree. an AFPR is really nice to have, and compared to the cost of a top notch build, like yours sounds to be, its a drop in the bucket. it also makes for a very easy way to get an electronic fuel pressure gauge since there is usually an unused port on them for our single rail cars.

I am researching my upcoming aem purchase and i am curious about a few things. For ~450whp what type of exhaust housing would you guys recommend?

I got my s360 with the 90* compressor housing and open .88 exhaust housing for $600 shipped and tax. then I went to boost lab for the .91 divided with the standard vband welded on for another $ 225. Now it looks like boost lab and full race offer the 90* compressor housing option, when I was...

For ~450whp what type of exhaust housing would you guys recommend?

the current 6766 is a 67mm inducer i imagine the 6765 is the same with a smaller turbine wheel. http://www.precisionturbo.net/Street-and-Race/ss/800-1-000HP/details/Street-and-Race-Turbocharger---PT6766-CEA%C2%AE/480 to get a smaller inducer size in the BW line you would have to go down to the...

For ~450whp what type of exhaust housing would you guys recommend?

a 6765 is a 67mm inducer i believe. that is a far cry from a 58mm inducer... spool would be drastically different on the 67 vs 58 and hardly what most people would call a response turbo compared to a 58. there is a lot more to turbo sizing than the ar ratio of the exhaust turbine housing. I...
